I believe the people of Maui County deserve leaders who answer only to the community—not to big-money interests that have too often shaped county decisions. That’s why I refuse to take donations from luxury hotel corporations and luxury home developers whose profits are built on Maui’s limited resources while local families struggle to stay.

This isn’t just campaign rhetoric—it’s a pledge I have signed as part of the Our Hawaiʻi Pledge, committing to put community well-being above entrenched interests and to advocate for transparency, accountability, and pono decision-making in government.

I’m proud to be an Ohana Candidate supported by the Maui Pono Network, an organization dedicated to promoting pono governance—leadership grounded in community values, stewardship of the ʻāina, economic justice, and policies that put people first rather than big developers and off-island investors. This grassroots support reflects my commitment to build a government that works for residents and ʻohana, rather than corporate special interests.

I’m was also honored to be endorsed by the Kānaka Movement in 2024, a group rooted in principles of aloha ʻāina, government kuleana (accountability and transparency), and service to community and environment. This endorsement reflects a shared belief that government must be of the people, by the people, and for the people—protecting our natural resources, uplifting our residents, and honoring the cultural values that make Maui unique.

As your county council member, I will champion stronger ethics policies, full disclosure of campaign funding, and enforcement mechanisms that prevent conflicts of interest so that every decision is made with public trust—not private profit—in mind.
